Mulzer Family of Companies has been proudly supporting local Habitat for Humanity chapters for over 40 years, and in 2019, we hosted our First Annual Helping Habitat Charity Golf Outing to raise funds for one local chapter within our operating region. 100% of the funds raised are donated and our first chapter recipient was Crawford County Habitat for Humanity.
The Second Annual Helping Habitat Charity Golf Outing took place on-line in 2020, however we were still able to raise over $20,000! Perry County Habitat for Humanity was the chosen chapter recipient and they were able to quickly put those funds to use by purchasing an existing home near our Main Office in Tell City, Indiana. This home was the first ever ReHab project for the Perry County chapter.
Josh Harris, Executive Director of Perry County Habitat, gave us the opportunity to bring a crew in for one of the first work days on the project: Demo Day! 22 employees, including interns and their supervising mentors, along with a host of others from all corners of Mulzer Family of Companies, showed up on a sweltering hot morning to take down and salvage cabinets & trim, and remove all of the carpeting and drywall.
Giving back, especially through organizations that provide valuable services & opportunities to everyone in our communities, is a top priority for employees at Mulzer Family of Companies. The fact that this ‘new’ ReHab home was literally right in our backyard was icing on the cake!
The Third Annual Helping Habitat Charity Golf Outing took place on September 22, 2021 raising over $28,000 for Habitat for Humanity of Spencer County. Ground was broken on a new home in Chrisney, Indiana earlier this year and Volunteer Teams from Mulzer Family of Companies will be on site for this one as well!
